Alessandro Del Piero was in the stands for Juventus’ opener against Chievo, but is confident he’ll be ready to face Roma this weekend.
The captain had been expected to start on Sunday evening before he was ruled out by back pain. His replacement Vincenzo Iaquinta scored the only goal.
“We are very happy to have started this new season with a victory,” said ‘Alex.’
“It was a tough game and we struggled a lot, but at the end of the day we took home the three points.”
Their next challengers are Roma, who lost 3-2 at Genoa for a poor start to the campaign.
“I did not play against Chievo because of the after-effects from an inflammation, but I am counting on being there in Rome on Sunday.”
